Welcome to the City of Plano! On behalf of the Plano City Council and our wonderful citizens, it is my pleasure to offer greetings from our community. We are delighted that you have chosen Plano as your destination for a long visit or for your new home. As you discover all that this city and the surrounding communities have to offer, we know that you will be as pleased to be here as we are to have you. It is an exciting place to live, work, and play.

We take great pride in our “All America City.” This special designation is awarded only to cities with strong citizen involvement and a proven ability to provide excellent services to its community. Many of our city departments have garnered national awards reserved exclusively for cities that excel in turning innovative ideas into reality. Plano serves as a role model for surrounding family-oriented cities in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Our success is due to the level of involvement of our citizens in our municipal government. We are confident that you will find your place to participate among the numerous activities and events that take place in our city throughout the year. Plano has many boards and commissions for which we seek volunteers. Please consider attending Plano City Council meetings to learn more about how our government works. We welcome your input and your participation.
