AsiaFest is organized by the Celebrating Asian American Heritage Foundation (CAAHF). President of the foundation, Paul Look, said, “AsiaFest greatly appreciates the support from the community in making the festival a success year after year. Thousands of attendees enjoyed live performances, booth vendors, and an Asian themed food court on a sunny Texas day."
Look added, "In particular, AsiaFest was proud to work with the Japan-America Society of Dallas-Fort Worth in raising funds for victims of the Sendai, Japan earthquake.”
Mayor Phil Dyer; Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Pat Miner; and City Council members Andre' Davidson, Lissa Smith, and Lee Dunlap were present to proclaim the first week of May as Asian American Heritage Week.
