Afterwards, he headed to a dunking booth sponsored by Crazy Water, the Mineral Wells bottlers of natural water replete with healthy minerals from calcium to zinc. Ten winners, drawn from a raffle, got two chances to dunk the all star into the water-filled booth. Even Modano’s good-natured taunting couldn’t distract determined ball throwers—he ended up in the drink on several occasions.

Proceeds from the event support the Mike Modano Foundation, which raises funds to improve the quality of life for at-risk children, in particular those who have been abused, abandoned or neglected. The foundation offers financial support to organizations like Jonathan’s Place and others who serve children.
