As the dog days of summer came to a close, the Plano Pacers held a Dog Days 3X3K Relay on August 28 at Bob Woodruff Park. Forty-seven teams participated this year including 23 kids who ran in the Kids 1K. The Pacers have always been a family-oriented club and organizers of the race agreed that running with your family as a team is especially fun, but a lot of teams included co-workers and longtime friends, too.

Participants in the 3X3K relay were as young as 8 years old. Eight participants were in their 70s—and going strong.

Clint Bell Don Wallace, vice president of the club, said that historically the race has attracted about 50 teams who vary in age and skill level. He said, "The 3X3 relay has always been more of a social event than a competitive race, though we always have a few teams that come out to win."
